The Midlands Indie Collective was inaugurated on August 25th, 2024, coinciding with the closing day of the RTF 2024 festival.

The MIDLANDS INDIE COLLECTIVE is a platform designed to enhance collaboration among filmmakers and other creatives, aiming to produce films with greater efficiency and success. Membership in the Midlands Indie Collective is free and open to all, extending beyond the residents of the UK's Midlands. Anyone planning to produce a film in the UK and seeking a city that is welcoming and prepared for cinematic endeavors should consider joining as a member.
The collective will comprise writers, artists, musicians, craftsmen, and filmmakers from various disciplines, welcoming students, hobbyists, and professionals. Our commitment includes collaborating with stakeholders to develop incentives that will draw filmmakers to the Midlands, with an initial focus on active film productions in Worcester, our collective's home base.
We are excited about the potential for creative synergy between the skilled individuals in the Midlands, especially Worcester, and international filmmakers who will introduce their projects to the Midlands via the Collective.
"The Midlands Indie Collective initiative is set to transform the Midlands' film industry. With its rich tradition of nuanced storytelling, independent filmmaking is poised for a thriving future here. Worcester is the ideal location for our inception, offering a unique combination of community support and suitable filming sites. Worcester delivers precisely that."
