REALTIME INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (RTF) is arguably the most innovative, most enjoyable and most fun-filled Film Festival in West Africa.
RTF is the first Film Festival in Africa to be designated one of the “TOP 100 BEST REVIEWED FESTIVALS WORLDWIDE” on the Film freeway and has a Five-Star Accreditation on the Global Film Festival Submission Platform.
RTF was founded out of the need to have a festival that focuses squarely on filmmakers; where they can collaborate, learn & create hence, the slogan “For Filmmakers, by Filmmakers”. The festival is entirely executed collaboratively by practicing filmmakers and places emphasis on creating an environment where equity & creative diversity thrives.
OUR UNIQUENESS & NOVELTIES
We are the only festival in Nigeria that has consistently taken place on the mainland. We have also helped with the decongestion of the perceived festival season (November / December) by hosting our event in June every year. RTF2022 however, will take place in August. We are also a “TECHNOLOGY – DRIVEN” Festival so, we celebrate and expose current TECHNOLOGIES that affect the art of filmmaking.
One of the most unique features of the festival is our proprietary “REALTIME FILMMAKING CHALLENGE” which is a 20 – hour filmmaking marathon that happens during the festival. Only films from the challenge have been screened during our closing ceremony since its inception.
With our “RTF KIDS FEST & ACADEMY”, we also pay attention to child filmmakers as we train them, and showcase films made by children during the festival. We are the only festival in Africa that is attentive to kid filmmakers.
Then we have the RTF CONTENT & TECH. EXCHANGE (Contex) where we gather a mixed multitude of Filmmakers, Exhibitors, Distributors, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers), Studios, Sales Agents, Aggregators, Entertainment Lawyers, Equipment sales vendors, Technology Companies, and Broadcasters in one space to interact, sell and collaborate.
